A Little About Me
‘Shine Through The Gloom’ may have taken three hours at my place of work, every Sunday night, for the last two years to write. But for me, it's been a story in the making for the last ten plus years of my life. You see, back in February 2004, some five months after the birth of my third child, I made a pact with myself that if I was going to be a dad, a husband and an all-round good guy then I was going to have to learn to up my game and be the best I could possibly be. And from that moment on it became like an obsession for me to discover, feed on and soak up all that there is to know about standing up and being an authentic man! Father and Husband!
Don't get me wrong. I'm not afraid to say that I've crashed and burned on more than one occasion as life's not always been pink and fluffy. But what it has taught me, if nothing else, is to make sure I keep turning up and use my time well. It's also taught me to focus more on listening rather than adding my penny's worth as not everything that comes out of my mouth has relevance. And finally by affirming those around me with support and love as that very act in itself carries so much weight.
Anything after that is a bonus.
I do hope you find my work of interest.
Ps That's me playing at the same stadium in Willesden Green some 25 years later. I might have lost the final but I won that tackle!
